Veterans Assistance Fund

At our DAV Chapter, we understand the challenges that come with unexpected financial hardships. Our Veteran Assistance Fund is established to offer crucial support to veterans and their families during such critical times. This fund is specifically designed to provide targeted financial assistance to those in acute need, ensuring their stability and dignity.

Purpose of the Fund

The Veteran Assistance Fund aims to assist veterans who encounter financial difficulties due to unforeseen life events. This could range from medical emergencies and sudden income disruptions to essential home repairs.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Veterans and their immediate family members facing significant financial challenges.
  • Applicants must be residents of our local area with demonstrable proof of service and financial necessity.

Types of Assistance Offered

Due to the limited nature of our funds, assistance is prioritized for urgent needs:

  • Emergency financial aid to cover essential expenses such as medical bills, utilities, or housing.
  • One-time grants that are non-repayable, offered based on the most critical needs and availability of funds.
  • Resource referrals to other supportive services for extended aid.

Application Process

  1. Initial Contact: Reach out to our chapter by phone or email to discuss your situation.
  2. Application Submission: Fill out the detailed application form provided by our office, outlining your financial condition and specific assistance needs.
  3. Review by Committee: Applications are evaluated on a monthly basis, with provisions for expediting in emergencies.
  4. Disbursement of Aid: Approved aid is paid directly to the service provider concerned.

Supporting Our Fund

Our ability to help is directly tied to the generosity of our donors. Currently, we are only able to accept donations via check. These contributions are tax-deductible, and every penny donated goes directly towards aiding veterans.

How to Contribute

Please consider supporting our fund; checks can be mailed to our chapter office. Your donation ensures that more veterans can receive the help they need when facing financial distress.
